Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using smartsht ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
smartsht is a web-based spreadsheet application with AI-assisted features for budgets, expenses, and data management. The Service includes a free tier with limited AI usage and a paid subscription ("Pro") with extended features.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use this Service. By using smartsht, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent.
4. Account Registration
You must create an account to access certain features. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete registration information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
- Accept responsibility for all activity under your account
5. Free and Paid Plans
- Free: Limited AI questions per day (currently 3). Core spreadsheet features are unrestricted.
- Pro ($7/month): Unlimited AI questions, advanced analysis, priority support.
We may change pricing or plan features with 30 days notice to existing subscribers.
6. Payments and Billing
Paid subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe. You authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. You may cancel anytime from your account settings — access continues until the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial months.
7. Your Data and Content
Spreadsheet data you create is stored in your browser's local storage by default. You retain all rights to your content. We do not access, sell, or share your spreadsheet data. AI queries are processed server-side to generate responses but are not stored after delivery.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to bypass usage limits, rate limits, or security measures
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
- Use automated tools to send excessive requests or scrape content
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
- Impersonate another person or entity
9. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, branding, and AI models, is owned by smartsht. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without written consent.
10. Availability and Warranties
We strive for high availability but do not guarantee 100% uptime. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
11. Limitation of Liability
smartsht is not financial advice software. We are not responsible for decisions made based on AI-generated content. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the preceding 12 months. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold smartsht harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice at least 14 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law.
